Poetry Performance, Mathare |
It’s hard to ask friends for money. But it’s a little easier if you have something to give in return. So for week two of our online awareness and fundraising campaign, KidsLibs Trust in Kenya has some small gifts for you – while we ask you to support the creative spirit of Kenyan children with an online donation. All of our free community libraries offer activities, and every activity is free of charge. Just $10 covers materials and staff time for a poetry workshop for a dozen middle schoolers…like the one that inspired our first gift to you, a poem from an 11-year-old boy in Mathare North, Nairobi. It takes a bit more – about $15 – to introduce a group of ten to 15 kids aged 6 and up to the magic of sunprints, a fun introduction to photographic image-making. Our second gift is a gallery of sunprint images by children in Nairobi and rural Sipili. |

You can treat yourself to more creative work from KidsLibs by visiting our website. Then, consider making a gift to allow us to continue providing the programs, materials, space and support our young poets, performers and artists need. All you need to do is click on our donate button and follow the directions! Your gift is tax deductible in the U.S.
If you don't want to donate, but know someone who might, please let them know about KidsLibs Trust, creating free community libraries in Kenya.
