Thomas & Queenventure, a Tragedy

In the Village of Karindee there lived a boy whose name was Thomas. Thomas was twelve years old; he was an orphan. Thomas was good at Math, but he was a very lazy boy and he liked crying without any reason. He liked playing football but he would not bathe. Thomas even wore rags. The villagers hated him because of his dirtiness and constant crying. But one thing the villagers loved about him. He had a special power and could sense what was about to happen.

Nearby there lived a girl whose name was Queenventure. Queenventure was sixteen years old. People loved her because of her beauty, but she was very selfish. She didn´t like helping poor people. Her hobbies were singing, dancing, and even rugby. She also liked decorating herself. She didn´t like men. But she did like maths, English, and KiSwahili. Her parents were very rich.

Also in that village there was a big ugly Giant named Othorong’ongo. He had three yellow eyes, he had hair all over his body, and one big tail. The ugly Giant had a long sharp teeth. All the villagers hated him because he wanted to kill them and destroy their land. He had a magic ring with which he could command animals to attack the villagers.

One day when Thomas was walking along the forest he heard a tree falling down. He heard a Giant laughing. "Ha! Ha! Ha! I’m going to eat you, you little tiny thing! What are you doing in my kingdom? Get out of here! Ha ha ha!"

Thomas wanted to fight the ugly Giant but he felt he was too young. He started running. "Where are you going?" "I’m....going....to....gather....fruit…" Thomas started running again. The Giant used his magic ring to command bad animals to surround Thomas. But before they could surround him Thomas sensed what was about to happen and he ran off very quickly. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him.

As he was running he saw a house and entered without knocking. Queenventure’s mother saw him and said, with a lot of disgust, “What a dirty boy! What are you doing here?" Thomas said, "It was not my wish to enter this room. The Giant was chasing me and I decided to save my life, so I ran into your house." "Okay," said Queenventure's mother. "Sit and share our breakfast."

“Queenventure!" she called.

Queenventure came. "Ah! What is this dirty boy doing here?”

“Don't worry,” answered her mother. "His name is Thomas. He is going to stay with us."

When the Giant heard that Thomas was going to stay with Queenventure he started roaring. “"I want to kill Thomas so I can marry this beautiful young lady!” Thomas wondered, who will marry this girl?

Later, Queenventure went swimming. Thomas said to Queenvanture's mother that he would like to marry Queenventure. On the other side of the forest the Giant was very hungry and he was sad for what he had heard yesterday in Queenventure’s home. Queenventure fell in love with Thomas and they decided to marry each other. Then the wedding day arrived. The Giant hid at the back of Queenventure’s home and as the wedding ceremony was taking place he came very slowly and killed Thomas with his long nails.

Queenventure ran away without looking back and was never seen again.
